| RC's Carrowend was born on May 30, 2007. "Rowen" is a daughter of Search Dog Pete. Rowen was one of six puppies who are all now training in sar disciplines. This litter of puppies were raised with enrichment activities specifically geared towards future careers in search and rescue. Rowen was started on clicker training at 4 wks of age and introduced to human bone at 5 wks of age. Rowen showed a very strong prey and toy drive at an early age and an affinity for human remains targets. Rowen recently attended a workshop with Adela Morris. Rowen shows great potential as a human remains detection dog and should be testing at the basic level of certification in the fall of 08. UPDATE Rowen certified in human remains detection with NNDDA on Nov 24, 2008. Rowen successfully worked buried, surface, building, and rubble search. Rowen certified basic disaster hrd for CTSARCAM in Sept. 2008. |
