| Axl was officially retired in June 2006. Axl had 3 surgeries on his knees over the past 2 years, the last one, not showing the recovery he had from the other two, it was decided to retire him. Axl certified to basic land HRDfor both CTSARCAM & Special K9's. Axl will be missed. Axl is owned and trained by Jennifer Blanton. He will continue his career as a therapy dog for Aggieland Pets with a Purpose. Axl actually "volunteered" for the job. He was a stray of unknown origins who just showed up one night to obedience class and attached himself to Jen. After several weeks of attempting to locate an owner, Jen decided to keep the loveable guy and give him a job. Axl began his HRD training utilizing the methods practiced by several government agencies for training bomb and narcotics detections. |
