| Rothcala's Ahern was born on May 30, 2007. "Hoss" is a son of Search Dog Pete. Hoss was one of six puppies who are all now training in sar disciplines. This litter of puppies were raised with enrichment activities specifically geared towards future careers in search and rescue. Hoss was started on clicker training at 4 wks of age and introduced to human bone at 5 wks of age. Hoss showed a great deal of prey and hunt drive towards both human remains and people. Hoss is very people oriented and shows great nerve strength on a variety of surfaces and situations. Hoss recently attended a workshop with Adela Morris. Hoss has had a good introduction to human remains and is now concentrating on trailing in preparation for certification. UPDATE! Hoss certified on Nov 24, 2008 with NNDDA for HRD Land. Hoss successfully completed a buried, surface, building, and rubble testing. |
