
Ben Alexander, B.S. Animal Sci 1987, M.S. Animal Sci 2009
Ben is currently a PhD candidate in the department of Soil Science at Texas A&M
University studying the post burial interval, grave soil, and interactions with HRD dogs
and the environement. Ben's Master Thesis research was on search dog performance
factors.
Ben began training dogs over 35 years ago, when at age 8, he took his first german
shepherd to the local kennel club dog obedience classes. Ben has titled dogs in AKC
obedience and has taught public obedience classes for more than 20 years. He currently
teaches for the City of College Station Parks and Recreation Dept.
Ben began training search dogs in Sept. 2000, and currently fields three operational dogs
and has one dog in training. Ben founded Cen-Tex Search & Rescue in 2002, a non-profit
volunteer professional specialty K9 response team which assists law enforcement and
other responsible agencies in searching for missing persons.
Ben is also the co-founder of Aggieland Pets with a Purpose, a non-profit volunteer
therapy animal organization. Ben serves as the Sr. Temperament Evaluator for APWAP.
Ben is a member of CTSARCAM, The National Association for Search & Rescue, North
American Police Work Dog Association, Montgomery County SAR, AMK9, Global
Personnel Recovery Specialists, and The National Narcotics Detector Dog Association.
Ben concentrates his efforts on public education and obedience training, search and
rescue training, and volunteering.
Ben is available for private obedience lessons, behavioral consultations, and educational
speaking engagements by appointment. Publications and presentations listed below.
Tiffanie M. Turner B.S. Biomedical Science 2007
Tiffanie is currently a K9 Handler with Cen-Tex Search and Rescue. Tiffanie has three
operational search dogs.
Tiffanie has many years of practical canine handling experience and behavioral
modification expertise.
Tiffanie is a member of CTSARCAM, Montgomery County SAR, North American Police
Work Dog Association, AMK9, Global Personnel Recovery Specialists, and The National
Narcotics Detector Dog Association.
